1. Thai CDC’s “Road to Freedom” Commemoration / August 2015

As co-sponsors of Thai CDC’s “Road to Freedom” commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the El Monte Thai Garment Slavery Case, TABA has a limited number of FREE tickets to the following events:

* The Boyd & Nop Concert at Hollywood and Highland (Sun, August 2nd, 9:30pm)

* The Anti-Trafficking Symposium at the Museum of Tolerance (Weds, August 5th, 9am to 4pm)

* Stage readings of the play “Fabric” at the Pasadena Playhouse (Thurs, August 6th & Fri, August 7th; 7pm reception, 8pm reading)

Negotiation is an integral part of our legal profession. TABA is proud to host a joint mixer with the Orange County Korean American Bar Association at the Korean Consulate General’s Office in Los Angeles at 11am on Saturday, August 29. Stay tuned for more details.

4. Asian Americans Advancing Justice – Los Angeles Dinner / Thu Oct 15

• AUSAs involved in the hiring process will give application and interview advice
• AUSAs will be available to interact informally with you and provide candid answers about the recruitment process

3. Cal State Bar — Voluntary Client Trust Accounting Survey / Closes Fri Jul 31

The State Bar of California is launching a voluntary survey of its members to help ensure that lawyers are meeting their ethical obligations when it comes to handling client funds.

The anonymous online survey, approved last month by the Board of Trustees, will increase awareness of client trust accounting rules and serve as an educational tool. In addition, State Bar staff will analyze the survey results to make decisions about future educational and regulatory efforts.

Participants will also receive a coupon, valid through the end of the year, for a $10 discount on any item in the State Bar online CLE catalog.

Location: Downtown Los Angeles
Rate: $75 an hour
Duration: 2+ months

Requirements
Must be admitted to practice in any US jurisdiction
Be able to read Thai at a business level
Hire Counsel will do language testing on all candidates
