You’re invited to our Thai Community Town Hall!

City Attorney Mike Feuer is partnering with the Thai Community Development Center, Thai Town Rotary Club, Thai Association of Southern California and Thai American Bar Association to host a community forum for the Thai Community. This event will be held on October 26th at 6:00 PM at Hollyview Senior Housing – Community Room (5411 Hollywood Blvd., Los Angeles).

Meet City Attorney Feuer and members of the City Attorney’s Office. Connect with local staff from LAPD Hollywood Community Station. Learn about how we work together to keep the neighborhood safe and about the many different services we provide. Bring questions, concerns and ideas.

4. API Equality LA 10th Anniversary Celebration / 6pm Sat Oct 24, JANM LA

TABA has one (1) free ticket left for the API Equality LA 10th Anniversary Celebration on Sat Oct 24 at the Japanese American National Museum in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles. TABA is a community sponsor for the event. Please email president@tabalawyers.org if you are available/interested. It will be a sit-down dinner.

From the organization: “The theme of our Anniversary is “Leading Change” and we will be honoring key individuals and organizations for their contributions to our movement, including a special award for the L.A. LGBT Center. We will be celebrating the Supreme Court’s historic decision on same-sex marriage and other recent victories and making sure to keep our organization sustainable in order to continue fighting for transgender equality, immigration justice and youth empowerment.”

We are currently looking for Notaries Public, volunteer attorneys, law students, and Thai-speaking interpreters to help clinic participants prepare Advance Healthcare Directives and Durable Powers of Attorney.

No experience necessary! Training will be provided.
0.5 hour of MCLE credit will be provided for the training for attorneys. APABA is a State Bar Approved MCLE provider.

This CLE program and discussion forum will focus on the Transgender Law and how we can eliminate bias against the Transgender community within the legal profession and acceptance of the Transgender community. The topics to be discussed include: Importance of Diversity in the Legal profession, Historical & Cultural – Social, Legal and Religious Prohibitions, Transgender Discrimination and Legal Development, Transgender Youth in Schools, Transgender individuals in the Military, Marriage Equality (Divorce and Child Custody) and Transgender Individuals in Jails and Prisons.

Early Bird Rate (Until 10/28): $35 for non-members & $25 for members of all co-sponsoring organizations.
